Big bags with liners (PE)

Maximum protection of your material

Big bags with polyethylene film are ideal for materials that require a high level of cleanliness during packaging. The PE film covers the entire inner side of the bag, preventing the material from coming into contact with the fabric or seams. For very fine powdery materials and liquids, regular bags do not provide enough protection, so a liner is used.

Types of film

• Liner as a tube: Film in the form of a tube is usually welded at the bottom but can be wrinkled at the valves.
• Formliner: Film in the shape of a bottle adapted to the valves on the bag, optimally following the form of the bag and the valves.
• Q-Liner: A combination of formliner film with baffles, allowing the bag to also be a Q-bag.

Fixing of the liner in the bags

• Loose liner: Simply pulled through the bag during production, which is the most common and economical method.
• PE liner with wings: Upon customer request, the liner is fixed to the bag to prevent movement. The wings can be torn, so it is recommended to sew along the entire length.
• Liner sewn along the entire length: The liner is sewn into all four corners of the bag, allowing absolute fixation.
• Glued PE liner: The most expensive option with the strongest fixation, by gluing the liner to the fabric at specific points.

Film at the inlet and outlet of the big bag

Various options for attaching the liner to the inlet and outlet of the bag include:

• Open liner: Not sewn to the fabric.
• Welded liner: Not sewn to the fabric.
• Liner sewn to the fabric.
• Liner sewn and hemmed.

Technical characteristics of the film

The dimensions of the PE film are determined according to the dimensions of the bag. The thickness of the film varies from 60 to 120 microns, most commonly 80 microns for bags of 1000 kg. The material is usually 100% virgin LDPE, but can also be made of other materials upon customer request. The film is usually transparent but can be blue, black, or other colors.

Type C bags and film

For Type B and Type C big bags, there is a special electro-conductive film.

Film for big bags with one or two lifting points

Film is often used for bags with one or two lifting points, having a special shape.

Food industry and film

The film can meet the needs of the food industry. Big bags for this purpose are sewn with special cleanliness measures, and the ends of the valves and the film are usually hemmed.
